Process: Brown/Orange/Blue Quilt

Here is a quick EQ6 mockup of my next quilt. I'm using oranges/browns and blues.

I'm going to offset the blocks/rows and go from dark to medium in half the blocks and light to medium in the other half. This is a sketch of the block layout (42 blocks total, 3 will be cut in half and placed at top and bottom of rows 2, 4, 6). Here are several blocks. Finished block size: approximately 11x14"

Process- Knit Knit, Knit Purl

So this is what it looks like when you take up knitting again. I found some knitting tutorials on Youtube to figure out the knit stitch and worked some rows on this scarf. After awhile, I wondered why it was so much wider. I counted the loops on the needle and it had ballooned from 16 to 26! So I must have been adding stitches somewhere in the process. I managed to bring it back down to 16.

I found this bright green yarn and figured out how to knit-purl using the videos from this knitting site. I really like the way it looks with knit-purl, so smooth on one side.

Knitting? Knitting!

I think I might have to take up knitting (again). I came across this really cool knitted blanket in ReadyMade magazine. Here is the link to the online article.

Doesn't that blanket just look so luscious and colorful and soft? Can't you just imagine yourself with that blanket wrapped around you on a couch reading a good book, or... knitting??
I can't really imagine myself knitting. But I think I'm going to have to take it up again for this project. It inspires me THAT MUCH. Yes, I tried knitting once, I think it was back in oh-three. I still have the balls of yarn and the project. The balls of yarn are so soft and I love the colors. But I got about four inches into a scarf, messed up, picked the whole thing out and started over. Here is how far I got on the second round:
Yeah, it's like eight inches. Not very promising. So anyway I'm going to look into this and see if I can't figure out a way to motivate myself to get interested in knitting again just long enough to finish this awesome blanket!
