Postcard #12
This month's challenge is "Tree" and "Red." Check out Sarah's new blog to chronicle her scrapping. Also, I was just looking back through my Five-Minute Notebook and saw this Postcard #12 was definitely inspired by 0414. That's cool, I didn't even realize it. See what happens when all these fermenting ideas are put out on the page? They're able to ferment even more! (into a lovely sourdough or something)

Block Week 12
The inner section (looks like a churn dash) was supposed to have points on the dark blue triangles. This is one of those "learning the hard way" times, and I thought later for some time about how to design the nine-patch with triangles on the corners so the added strips wouldn't shear off the points. Apart from paper-piecing the nine-patch strips, I'm still not sure. I'll have to look into it for the second round of this block. After all, I've made LOADS of sawtooth star, bears paw and other blocks with points in my day and haven't had a problem.
Anyhoo, at least this is ACCEPTABLE "learning the hard way." It's not like I'm trying to learn to pilot a helicopter (no 'happy accidents' in THAT).
Postcard #8 (Leah/Sarah series)
March was black/white with a color and last week was orange. I layered 1/4" strips of various orange fabrics on top of a black/white rectangle, then stitched the strips down.
I was going to quilt circles in between the lines but decided to leave it as is. This is my favorite postcard so far, and when I compare the stack I have, I can already see improvements. I'm so excited (about improving)!!
