Postcard 15

May's theme is "Candy." I had an idea to do a lollipop using bias tape made from a print with a diagonal stripe. The only one I could find in my stash was a black and yellow. Then, the spiraling lollipop was too close to make good use of the bias tape. So it bunched up in the middle. I added fusible tape to the back of the bias tape so it stuck nicely, then I tacked it down with thread. It was a fun experiment, anyway.

Layout of Week 18 Block

I'm working on the Week 18 block but it is a weird design. I *could* piece it, but I think since I'm trying to catch up on my blocks, I'm going to fuse it, and leave the piecing attempt to the 2nd half of the year. I'm thinking of putting a thin border around the edges. Also, I added the square on point in the middle because it looked too empty without something there. I could also put in a circle, that might look interesting.
This could also look very cool on point. Three in a row in a table runner or something (not that I make table runners, but it DID come to mind).

Block Week 18

Aren't these colors gorgeous?
This block was inspired by a sidewalk design in Jerez de la Frontera.

Here are the rest of April's postcards, the theme was "Tree."
